My Crock Pot sits on the bench during winter. It is at the ready for when I create another of my masterpieces. I call them masterpieces because they are edible, nutritious and delicious dishes.
This week I made a Hearty Beef & Vegetable Soup using Promite to help create the Stock. I enjoy Promite because it is sweeter tasting than Vegemite. Also when I ‘Crock Pot’ my meals, I usually make enough for some lunches during the week, I may freeze one and enough for another dinner. Very handy for working parents. On the weekend I have the fresh ingredients all prepped by 10am and it is ready to eat for a 6pm dinner.
Ingredients
2-3 tablespoon Promite (Vegemite or Marmite – your preference)
1 large: potato, sweet potato, zucchini, carrot, celery & onion
500g rump steak diced
Method
Chop and pop all ingredients into about 1 litre of water into Crock Pot.
Add 2 tablespoons Promite (dissolved in hot water) to start and then add more to taste.
Cook on high for 4 hours and then on low for last 2-3 hours (on weekends).
Stir occasionally if you want, otherwise leave it do its thing.
(*During the week allow 8-10 hours on low as I leave the crock pot for the day)
I don’t own a slow cooker but need to invest in one to make yummy dishes like this!
