Tis the season to be jolly. Every season should be jolly for that matter — Winter, Spring, Summer and Autumn (or Fall). This season of jolliness, which has Christmas, is a time for family, fun and frivolity. The Christmas lights about the streets herald: It’s ‘Christmas time of year’.
When visiting my Brisbane family recently, the kids were old enough to do an awesome job putting up their Christmas lights. We adults sat on the lawn below and admired their efforts in lighting up their home — as did others who stopped by.
For me, the greatest gift at Christmas is catching up with family whether in person, via Skype, Facetime, phone call or whatever other technological way is humanly possible. I prefer to forego the gifts for ‘the gift of family time’. Those memories will leave a lasting impression.
One of my Townsville family gave Santa a place to rest before he had to fly off on his sleigh for his midnight run.
Their lovely neighbours across the road had a nativity scene. Many children in cars were oohing and aahing.
When traveling, travel safe. When enjoying breakfast, brunch, lunch, afternoon tea, dinner or supper — eat in moderation. You’ll feel better for it.
Merry Christmas. Enjoy your family time. And thanks for a wonderful 2016 blogging year.
Merry Christmas!

I agree, the best gift at Christmas is family time but those lights look pretty amazing too!
Merry Christmas.

That is lovely to read and see Maria! We always decorated our house in Sydney…getting it very well lit for the grandkids and me..by my poor hub who put everything up!! When we left we gave all of them to our daughter and the grandkids in her family and this year they put them up at their place. It was good to see them all being re-used. Thank you for your support of this link up. Next week, first week of 2017, is to link up a favourite post from 2016. See you on the blog! Denyse. #lifethisweek
